Welcome to the HOTEL ENGEL LIESTAL, the historic yet modern seminar and business hotel.

This 4-star hotel was rebuilt in 2001 in the heart of the picturesque town of Liestal.

Many parts of the building, which appears in the history books as early as 1697 as the Inn "zum Engel", were restored in collaboration with the body for preservation of historical monuments. The front facade and the roof truss of the historic hotel were renovated, taking great care to retain the original material, so they are preserved for posterity. (More on the history) Adjoining the old Engel, we were able to build a highly modern hotel and seminar section with 47 hotel rooms, 2 junior duplex suites, 8 seminar rooms and 3 restaurants.

You can reach the centre of Basel, with its museums and exhibition centre, in 10 minutes by train, or conveniently in 15 minutes on the motorway, and the airport is 30 minutes’ drive away.

There are 120 parking spaces in the public car park that has direct access to the hotel.
